Further growth for the HANSA-FLEX corporation

The 2013 business year was a further successful one for the HANSA-FLEX Group.

In an officially shrinking domestic market, we were able to maintain the same levels of sales and profit as in the previous year. From an international perspective, we are continuing to grow, with the corporation having successfully continued its organic expansion in 2013.

From a structural perspective, at the start of 2014, the founding shareholders of the HANSA-FLEX Group transferred their remaining shares in the HANSA-FLEX companies in the Netherlands, Switzerland and the USA, which had previously been kept separate from the corporation, to the HANSA-FLEX corporation. Furthermore, the shares in our subsidiary in Australia, the majority of which were still held by outside shareholders, were also fully acquired.

The entire international business of the group is now subsumed under HANSA-FLEX International GmbH - a 100% subsidiary of HANSA-FLEX AG. The board of directors will of course continue to work closely with local partners in some of the overseas subsidiaries, who as managing locally operated successfully building the business, thus enabling the global appearance of the HANSA-FLEX Group.

Further information on the preceding fiscal year 2013 will be available in our business report after the financial statements have been finalized and published.

The setting for the third XWORLD will be the African continent, which we will be "experiencing" from Morocco to South Africa in the west, and from South Africa to Libya in the east.

Certified creditworthiness

In July 2013 HANSA-FLEX AG was awarded the "CrefoZert" certificate of creditworthiness. This certification, issued by the independent auditors of the Creditreform organisation, confirms the high standard of creditworthiness enjoyed by our company.

The extensive audit which preceded the awarding of the certificate was based on three evaluation criteria:

  1. the Creditreform creditworthiness index
  2. the structure and rating of the company's balance sheet
  3. an analysis of the company's exposure to risk.

Christian-Hans Bültemeier, CFO of HANSA-FLEX AG:
"The creditworthiness certificate confirms and demonstrates that the credit rating of our financial position is above average for the industry. We are therefore already in a very good position, but as a leading systems supplier in the hydraulics field it is our aim to improve on these solid results even further in the future. Thanks to the "CrefoZert" certificate our customers and business associates can already be confident at the present time that they are doing business with a very healthy company."

HANSA-FLEX appoints new divisional manager

With effect from 1 July this year, Florian Wiedemeyer has been appointed to the position of divisional manager for Accounting & Controlling at HANSA-FLEX AG.

Mr Wiedemayer is 33 years old and has an advanced degree in business administration, having completed a dual course of study while working for HANSA-FLEX AG. After graduating, from 2005 onwards he established and developed the Controlling function at the Bremen Headquarters, with outstanding results. Mr Wiedemeyer is a respected and valued contact in Sales and the business divisions. With extensive knowledge in his field, he has also served as a professional contact for domestic and overseas auditors from the more than 40 subsidiaries of the HANSA-FLEX Corporation for a number of years. Fair marathon April

Hannover Messe Industrie

At the Hannover event, 6,550 exhibitors from 62 countries prepared to greet the 225,000 visitors from all over the world. The unifying theme of our stand, which occupied more than 300 square metres, was designed to present HANSA-FLEX services.
Interested visitors were able to see for themselves a fully equipped vehicle from our fluid service fleet. The HANSA-FLEX Eventmobile in the outdoor area served as an impressive advertising space.

We also introduced three digital innovations, the HANSA-FLEX online shop, the HANSA-FLEX mobile branch search app, and our customer portal, my.hansa-flex.

Over five action-packed days, we welcomed several hundred visitors to our stand and made many promising new contacts. Our colleagues in Sales had reserved spaces for meetings with customers in the VIP area even before the event began, so this area was often fully occupied.

On two evenings, we hosted cocktail parties, which are always extremely well attended and are on the way to becoming a tradition in their own right. Starting at 6 pm, customers, suppliers and friends of HANSA-FLEX AG met for cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere. Our stand attracted many visitors on every day of the trade fair.

We were particularly pleased to be able to greet many regular customers, who value their cooperation with HANSA-FLEX AG and wish to develop it. We are also encouraged by the large number of valuable new contacts with whom appointments were made for more detailed discussions. Our trade fair team is already looking forward to the next HMI, which will be held in 2015.

International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery

The world's biggest exhibition of construction machinery opened on 15.04.2013 and, as always, HANSA-FLEX staged an impressive presence.

The venue in Munich was attended by over 3,400 exhibitors from 57 countries. In all, this trade fair attracted more than 530,000 visitors from 200 nations.
Our stand here occupied more than 400 square metres of the outdoor area, and for the second time in a row it was located right next door to the British construction machine builder JCB.

The HANSA-FLEX Eventmobile was also on hand, this time in the atrium, where it served as a second stand. As at the HMI, our main focus at bauma was on the field of mobile services. Interested visitors were able to take advantage of a real hands-on experience and inspect in the minutest detail not only a hydraulic service container but also one fully equipped vehicle from each of the fluid service and the rapid hydraulic service fleets.

Throughout the seven days of the fair, 27 selected employees were on hand to advise and assist our visitors and answer questions about every aspect of HANSA-FLEX. By the end, we had met with several thousand visitors from every conceivable nation at our trade fair stand. Indisputable proof that HANSA-FLEX enjoys a worthy reputation abroad as well as in Germany.
The throng of visitors was sometimes so great the we were obliged to control the numbers of people coming in. With several hundred new contacts, including many that hold the promise of fascinating new projects for the future, were are very pleased with the results of our bauma presentation.

HANSA-FLEX foundation established

In 1962, Bremen businessman Joachim Armerding began the one-man business that would serve as the foundation for the multinational HANSA-FLEX AG of today. In December 2012, Mr Armerding set up the HANSA-FLEX foundation. The foundation is endowed with one million euro. The purpose of the foundation is to promote adult and vocational education, including assistance for students.

"The HANSA-FLEX foundation considers that assistance for the next generation is an extremely important task. One of its primary objectives is provide support for particularly gifted young people, who in their turn will then contribute to the long-term development of economic and social living conditions in their own countries", said Joachim Armerding.

The first programme undertaken by the foundation will be the provision of grants for full- and part-time studies at the Jacobs University, Bremen. Starting on 1 September 2013, 150,000 euro will be made available annually for this purpose. The further objective of this undertaking is to promote Bremen as a hub for science, research and education by enabling talented young people to study at the private university. The International Jacobs University is an excellent partner, because by assisting students we can help young talent for a prolonged period, and in particular we can reach talented youth from overseas", said Joachim Armerding.
