If the view from the motorway in Munich created the impression that you were looking at a huge building site, it didn't mean that new roadworks had been set up. On the Munich trade fair site next to the A94 the exhibitors at bauma 2016 set up hundreds of cranes and other heavy machinery and – for a whole week – presented their products and services at the world's leading trade fair for construction machinery, mining equipment, building materials machinery, construction site vehicles and construction equipment.
With an outside stand HANSA-FLEX was this year one of a record 3,423 exhibitors. With a 510 m² open-air structure flanked by two LED walls, the hydraulic specialist presented such services as its Fluid Service and Rapid Hydraulics Service, inviting both customers and visitors to technical discussions.
"We experienced a highly successful trade fair", is how Sales Manager Matthias Henke summarises our participation in bauma, adding: "We held a large number of high-quality discussions, and made many new contacts. Now it's a matter of following up these customer contacts. Our diaries are full and it's going to take several weeks."
Many exhibitors assess bauma 2016 as a record event, with 580,000 visitors attracted to this year's fair. In particular the Saturday, which is traditionally the day in Munich which provides the largest number of visitors, the stand team was under real pressure: "In a number of cases we had to request visitors to come back at a later time, because there were simply too many people at the stand", says Roelof Wittler, Head of Key Account Management, describing the interest of visitors in the HANSA-FLEX services. "This was in spite of the fact that we had a large team of 30 at the stand. For the entire week we were very busy with customer discussions, and were also able to establish customer contacts with companies from countries where we don't yet operate."
HANSA-FLEX has branches on all continents and operates in a total of 40 countries.
The next bauma will be held in 2019.
